Discontentment with our politics is pervasive. Americans have believed the country is on the wrong track for a longer period of time than at any other point in modern history. Polarization is at an all-time high, and it has seeped out of the realm of politics and into the fabric of our communities and social networks.
I have spent the last few years thinking about whether this discontent will result in a moment of cynicism or a moment of clarity. But perhaps we should ask the question: How do we make this discontent an opportunity for clarity, rather than one for cynicism?
